Yep, you're right about Harry Potter being shut out of the Oscars. Not fair.
Yeah, I think I will stay for one more transfer, but who really knows. Just President.
This past week was pretty good. The Borjorquez are getting baptized on Sunday. It is really good for them. I am happy that they were able to make the decision on their own.
We got a new investigator from a referral last week, Estella. She is a single mother and has 5 kids. She is pretty golden. Her kids want to come to church and learn more too, so that should help them.
Juan Alvarez is doing well. He is just waiting for his girlfriend to get with it and get divorced, so they can get married, so he can get baptized. The work is going pretty well. We have been trying to see a lot of less actives to help them get to church. I am doing well. So don't worry about me. Ok, here we go:
1. As far as technology goes, we have cell phones, and can use computers, obviously, and we have little dvd players to watch missionary dvds.
2. I'll be honest, it does kind of feel like I have been here for a while. It feels normal being out here.
3. My studies are going good. I just finished 2 Nephi. So I am trucking along pretty well.
As a missionary, I have the mindset: One more. If we are tired, or if it is late, I always try to see one more person. I think that sort of attitude could help you. When you have called tons of people, and nobody is interested, just try one more. Things are going well here. I am working hard. No worries here.
Mom: Hola.It is good to hear that your talk went well.
Dad: Yeah the BBQ place was really good. I have been thinking about it, and I know it is early, but I think when I'm done, I'll come home and then we can come back out later.Enjoy your guitar dude, dude. Well I wish I had more to say. Have a good week. Love you.
Love, Nick

Feeling Presidential
Dear Family,
Don't worry Momma, I am fine. I got a new visa card on Saturday, so that is good. The rest of the elders can eat now too.
Yeah my camera takes video. Why?
I cannot agree more with the Mozart quote about working coming before inspiration. That is like the exact same situation the Bojorquezs are in. They want an answer to their prayers, but they aren't really doing very much. We read them the "Road to Damascus" talk by President Uchtdorf. That helped them a lot. He says pretty much the same thing, that we have to put in some effort to get results. The Bojorquezs are actually pretty close to baptism. They said they would talk about it as a couple, and pray. So I think in March they'll get dunkerooed.
This past week was a little tough. There were a few days that we only saw like 1 or 2 people. Those days are mentally tough. But we worked through them, and it got better. My comp is still talkative, but I think I'm getting used to it.
So yeah, that is really anything of much note from this week. Transfers are next week. I personally wouldn't mind leaving, but who really knows. Pres. Keyes likes to keep missionaries in their areas for a while.
Ok.
1. Right now, my favorite tie is the tie that Dev got me for Christmas. It is white, grey, and red. It looks good.
2. The kids in our neighborhood don't seem to do many organized sports. Or organized anything. Or if they do, I never see them. I actually think that there aren't a lot of kids in the hood.
3. Not gonna lie, our Zone Conferences are boring.I'm jealous of Colton's. They last all day, and we just kinda listen to President Keyes talk. We have a 1/2 mission conference in March, and a member of the 70 is coming.
I had the BEST BBQ ever yesterday. Oklahoma Joe's. It is in a gas station in KCK. Like the best. Anthony Bourdain said it is in the top 13 places to eat before you die. I agree.
I saw a thing on TV when I was home that I want. It is by Body by Jake. It is a work out thing that attaches to your door, and has lots of rubber bands attached to it. Some UFC was on the commercial. Can you look into that? That way I can exercise if my comp wants to sleep in.
Daffy is cute. And very naughty.
Thanks for everything. I love ya.

Yea yea. I put it on the wrong blog the first time.
Dear Family,
It flippin' snowed. It took until about the end of winter, but it snowed last night, and is continuing to snow as I write.
Mom,congrats on the release. You were Primary prez the entire time I was in High School. That is wild. Sounds like you'll continue to be incredibly busy though with that UVU thing. No, we didn't go the the Worldwide Training the other day. We just worked, well we tried. I'm trying to figure out how to keep the companionship motivated to work hard. I am really focusing myself on not wasting time. I'm not here to waste time. I am here to work.
Other than that, this past week was pretty good. We have an investigator, Claudia ( I mentioned her before), who is very close to committing to be baptized. She just gets the gospel. The ward is actually starting to work with us and trust us, so that is really nice. The work is going well. Still chugging. Unfortunately, my little mind is blank right now.
Oh yeah, Juan Alvarez is doing really good. He reads, prays, goes to church every week, all of the good stuff. He is pretty much a member, he is just waiting on his girlfriend to get divorced, so they can get married, so he can be baptized.
Dad- We haven't had any KCQ. We tried last week, but it didn't work out.I have heard it is fantastic. Like amazing. Guess what? I had dinner with the founder of Pinnacle Financial. He told me that pacman is one of his competitors. Way to go daddy-o. He is assigned to our ward-most of the leadership positions in the ward are brought in. I am all good. I told mom that I need stamps, but that is about it. Make sure to do something nice for mom tomorrow.
Tres:
1. My shoes are doing fine. Now I might be able to use my shoe-track thingys now. Oh, I need stamps.
2. I honestly couldn't tell you if they sing Head,Shoulders, Knees, and Toes in Spanish. They do all of the Primary stuff in English.
3. I've heard regular words, "trippin", "foo", "bro" all sorts of basic slang. Nothing too crazy. Though, a lot of Hispanics have nicknames. They all have to do with appearance. Nothing too clever.
Yep, that's about it.
Well fam, thanks for everything. Your prayers are felt.
Love you, Nick

Hey there,
I am doing well. How are you?
I enjoyed the limerick from Christian. (Editor's Note: Christian, what limerick? Did you share with the class?)
My first football season on the mish is over. Whiggity what?! Now I can finally focus. Ha just kidding. The Niners will win next year, and the year after, and the year after, and so on until the millenium.
I got the package-it was wonderful. Thank you for sending it to me. My little favorite cookies are always hard to eat because I want to throw down on them, but at the same time, I don't want them to be gone. Quite the inner-battle if I do say so myself.
Guess what? I had to translate for Stake Conference yesterday. It was wild. My Spanish is pretty much all there, just a few words here and there that I don't know. So that's pretty cool.
Speaking of barbecue, I think we are going to a world famous one today. It is called Oklahoma Joe's. Apparently, it is to die for. I will be the judge of that.
But yeah things are good here. The work is moving along.
My comp is good.We have a deal. When he tries to tell me about his magic cards, in return I tell him about 3-4 defenses and blitz packages.
I am trying to work as hard as possible every day. At first when I got out here, I didn't understand the "hard work" part that people always talk about. To me,I thought hard work was more of a blue-collar sort of thing. I now realize that the hard work they are talking about is the mental game. You can't get down on yourself, you can't give up for the day. The adversary puts lots of little thoughts in your head to keep you from doing things sometimes. Taking a break or not trying to see people is his way of stopping us from doing our calling. But it is something that can be overcome.
I finished Thessalonians this week. It is a good book. I'm going through all of the works this year, but I started with the New Testament. I like the New Testament, it has good stuff.
Q'z
1. I try to exercise in the mornings everyday. I do little things like
pushups and use some weights to keep me going. I never exercise with
my comp, he likes to sleep in.
2. As an senior companion, you just have to plan for the day and not much else.
Nothing spectacular.
3. We can listen to churchy-music. Sometimes we turn on the radio and
listen to the preaching channel. It is entertaining. Lots of "Praise
the Lords" And "Amens" given.
Other than that, just basic stuff. We had to walk around last week which was okay because from Monday to Thursday, it was high 60's-low 70's, but since Friday it has been wet and muggy.
Okey dokey, Family, Have a good week. Love you more than Todd loves golf.
